You can get to Chemnitz with Deutsche Bahn, but be advised that there is no direct ICE train connection. You will probably go through Leipzig or Dresden and take a smaller train from there.
Important travel information for trains from Leipzig
Due to construction work, the trains connecting Leipzig and Chemnitz Main Station (RE 6) are currently ending at "Haltepunkt Küchwald". There is a bus transfer from there to Chemnitz Main Station. However, you have to walk about 400 meters to get there. More information here:
Although Chemnitz is not famous for its train connections, you can get there easily by car or bus via Autobahn A4 and A72. Parking is available directly at the venue.
Chemnitz is located in the heart of Saxony and framed by the spurs of the Ore Mountains. Its industrial townscape has changed considerably since German reunification and nowadays combines historical sites, modern buildings, and park areas.
